The Learning Bridge Wales was created from a simple belief: every young person deserves an educational experience in which they feel understood, supported and able to succeed.
Our provision is shaped by extensive experience of working with young people who have experienced barriers to education, including those with additional learning needs, anxiety, emotionally based barriers to attendance, social and emotional difficulties and disrupted educational experiences.
Our founders are experienced senior education leaders with a background in specialist and alternative education. Their experience includes leadership within a successful revolving door Pupil Referral Unit, ALN leadership, curriculum development, behaviour and wellbeing, trauma-informed practice and supporting young people who have struggled to engage with traditional educational environments.
They have also led the development of systems for assessing progress, supporting emotional literacy, strengthening engagement and helping learners develop the confidence and skills needed to move forward. This includes moving back to mainstream provisions and specialist settings where required.
The Learning Bridge brings this experience together to create something purposeful: specialist online provision that puts relationships, wellbeing and meaningful progress at the heart of learning.
Our approach
We don’t believe that a young person’s difficulties should define their educational future.
We start by understanding the learner — their strengths, experiences, needs and barriers — and then build provision around them.
Connect first. Understand the barrier. Build confidence. Develop essential skills. Create a pathway forward.
Built on Experience.
Driven by Possibility.
